A Technical Document is a document which has one or more editions or revisions. The following types of document in a CEMDC environment can be classified as Technical Documents: - Drawing [or Technical Drawing]
- Schedules of items, typically on a Drawing, such as
- Bending Schedule - list of reinforcing bars in a concrete structure
- Cable Schedule - list of cables in a building
- Specification [e.g. of Works]
- Scope of Works
- Bill of Quantities
When a Technical Document is issued to a [sub] contractor or supplier it is in itself a Work Instruction. It is necessary therefore that before this occurs the Technical Document has been "Approved" as being fit for its purpose.
